Oral Interp Has Great Season
The Oral Interpretation year hit the ground running! The 2013 Oral Interp Team is comprised of two duets, Ally Monson & Matt Loomis and Jen & Jos Hurlbert, two prose, Jay Foster and Audrey Hanson, an oratory, Cecilia Streff, a humorous, Ally Monson, and a reader’s theatre, Jill Warkenthien, Brady Atherton, Rawson Yost, Mackenzie Huber, Morgan Nelson, & Skylar Welk. Coach Hurlbert has been working hard preparing each entry and practicing with them every chance they have. Mrs. Hurlbert has been through quite a bit this season (waking up early on Saturdays and staying up late perfecting pieces) but it all paid off in the end. The team is very thankful and appreciative to have her as a coach! We could not have made it through the season without her!! This year’s Interp season contains four meets (Arlington, Flandreau, NSU, & DSU). At each meet members gave ‘superior’ performances! Highlights of this year’s season are, Cecilia Streff placing first as the NSU meet and third at the DSU meet, Matt Loomis & Ally Monson placing fourth at NSU meet, Ally Monson placing second at the NSU meet, and an NSU sweepstakes award. On Wednesday, November 6 the team traveled to NSU for District Competition. Congratulations the Clark Interp team for placing first as a whole. Cecilia Streff placed first in oratory, Jay Foster placed second in prose, Jen Hurlbert placed first in poetry, Ally Monson placed second in humor, Matt Loomis and Ally Monson placed first in duet, and the Readers Theater team of Brady, Rawson, Mackenzie, Skylar, Morgan, and Jill placed first. These members will now move on to Regions which will be held in Webster on November 19, and State Competition in Watertown on December 6-7.
