This site will list all scholarships available through Clark High School or others that I am aware of that are legitimate scholarships to apply for. Some will require you to stop by for an application while others will hyperlink you to the web site to complete the form.  Also listed will be other sites to go to for information and help during your junior and senior year.

SD Farmers Union Scholarship

Seniors in high school or freshman in college can apply. Three scholarships in the amount of $500 each will be awarded to eligible young people. Your parent must be a member of SD Farmers Union. Preference is given to High School seniors.

Elks Vocational Grant Application

If you are planning on attending a vocational school with no immediate or long range plans of going to a four-year school apply. Follow the link and fill out the application. Keep in mind you have to have it signed by an Elks Lodge member.

AXA Achievement Scholarship

Open to any senior who has an outstanding accomplishment in the community or school that is non-academic. Go to the web site and check out the application. It is for big money and one student from each state is selected polus others.

If you have a 2.5 or higher GPA, work an average of 15 hours a week, 40 weeks a year, have financial need and have been involved in community service follow the link and apply.

South Dakota Association of Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors Scholarship

Students interested in a career in the plumbing, heating and cooling field can apply. There will be one $1000 and one $500 scholarship given tostudents in South Dakota.

Dakota Corps Scholarship Program

Graduate from an accredited South Dakota high school with a Grade Point Average (GPA of) 2.8 or greater on a 4.0 scale. Home schooled students will be allowed to provide supplemental information if this requirement is not applicable.

Have a composite ACT score of 26 or greater (or the SAT equivalent).

Agree, in writing, to stay in South Dakota and work in a critical need occupation after graduation for as many years as the scholarship was received, plus one year.

Agri-Solutions/Croplan Ag Scholarship

Students pursuing two- or four-year degrees in agronomy, crop production or
closely related fields. Scholarship is available only to high school seniors, or

Blue and Gold Ag Scholarship Application

The South Dakota FFA Association awards several scholarships to South Dakota high school seniors who are current FFA members. Applicants must be planning to attend a university or technical school in South Dakota to major in agriculture. Applicants must enroll in the South Dakota school of their choice during the fall semester of the current year.

Codington-Clark Electric

There are three scholarships available. Two $500 Codington-Clark Electric Scholarships and one Codington-Clark Electric / CoBank Scholarship in the amount of $1,000. The scholarships must be used for educational costs, and the student must enter college in the fall of the school year for which the scholarship is given. Checks will be made payable to the student, and will be distributed by Codington-Clark Electric. Codington-Clark Electric will pay scholarships after the completion of the first semester.
Who is eligible to receive the scholarship?
Dependent children of member-system consumers are eligible. The applicant must also be a U.S. citizen. The applicant must be a student who is planning to enroll in a full-time undergraduate course of study at an accredited, two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational/technical school located in South Dakota.

Bob Redder Memorial Scholarship

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must meet the following criteria:
*Be a student in SD FFA Districts 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, or 7.
*Be a senior FFA member.
*Has been an active FFA member for at least three years.
*Plans to attend a college or university in South Dakota.
*Plans to pursue a major in an agriculturally related field and intend to return to farm or ranch.

GUIDELINES
1. The recipient must be a Clark, Hamlin, Henry, Florence, or Willow Lake High School student who is currently in a postsecondary program or is a high school senior on track for graduation.
2. The recipient must be currently enrolled or planning to enroll in a full-time course of study at an institution of higher learning, including a vocational/ technical school, or two-year or four-year college or university.
3. The recipient must have a 2.0 cumulative grade point average.
4. The Schwab Scholarship Committee will select recipients & scholarship amounts.
5. The quality and appearance of the application will be taken into consideration.
6. All students must complete the entire application and provide a current official transcript and three letters of recommendation. All documents must be postmarked no later than Tuesday, March 1, 2016. Please return as follows:

credentials fall within an average to above-average range.

The $1000. scholarship will give preference to applicants pursuing studies in history, political science, or water resources.

Bob Mecham Student of Integrity Scholarship
The annual Scott Mecham BBB Student of Integrity Awards program is sponsored by the Foundation of the Better Business Bureau. $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to six students who reside in the geographic area served by the BBB. These scholarships were established to honor the memory of Mr. Mecham who served as the BBB president from 1991 until January 2006, when he died unexpectedly.

This award will recognize students that personify the values, leadership and integrity exemplified by Scott Mecham.

The goal of the Riverview Scholarship is to find eligible students interested in furthering their academic careers in any two- or four-year college program.

This scholarship is open to all graduating high school students, and students enrolled in a two year, four year, or graduate program. This is a one-time, non-renewable scholarship. Scholarship is judged solely on the quality of the essay, there is no minimum GPA requirement.

Student Loan Finance Corporation is pleased to announce the availability of FIVE scholarships for South Dakota high school seniors. These $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to South Dakota high school seniors attending a college, university or technical institute for the 2016/2017 academic year. Every scholarship application will be automatically entered into a drawing for a free iPad.

James Valley Telecommunications Scholarship
Applicant must be a high school senior who will be graduating in the Spring of 2014 and whose parents/legal guardian are members of James Valley Telecommunications. Seniors must be attending an accredited college, university or vocational school in South Dakota in the Fall of 2014. A minimum GPA of 3.0 is required.

All applicants must submit the Bob Peterson Memorial Telecommunications Scholarship application. In addition, all applications shall submit a short essay of 400 words or less on the theme “What industry or opportunity would entice you to return to a rural community after completing your education, and why?”

Immediate family members of James Valley Telecommunications’ directors and employees are not eligible for the JVT Scholarship Program.

This scholarship has been established in memory of Lee Schlagel.  Lee, son of Terry and Deb Schlagel, was an outstanding athlete at Clark High School.  He died of an asthma attack at the age of 25.  This scholarship is open to Clark senior athletes.

Jeff Worth/Rick Worth Memorial Scholarship

The Jeff Worth/Rick Worth Memorial Scholarship Fund is offering a two hundred and fifty dollar ($250) Scholarship to be used towards tuition and paid in two installments ($125 for each semester) to a graduating senior boy or girl from Clark High School.  The qualified student must be pursuing a career at the vocational or college level in South Dakota.  Financial need will be a factor in determining the recipient along with scholastic abilities.  The scholarship is given in memory of a fellow student of Clark High School and his father, a long time Clark Banker.

Applicant must desire a career in a retail field. Student must intend to enroll full-time at a post secondary school. Awards will not be based solely on financial need or grades. Varsity Tutor Monthly Scholarship

Varsity Tutors Scholarship Contest Description
Varsity Tutors holds a monthly $1,000 college scholarship contest where students must write an essay in response to a monthly prompt. Visitors to the Varsity Tutors scholarship webpage are able to vote via social media for submitted entries. The top five entries with the most votes are reviewed by Varsity Tutors at the end of the month and one winner is subsequently chosen to receive the $1,000 college scholarship. Interested students can enter the contest by following the above link.
