This site will list all scholarships available through Clark High School or others that I am aware of that are legitimate scholarships to apply for. Some will require you to stop by for an application while others will hyperlink you to the web site to complete the form. Also listed will be other sites to go to for information and help during your junior and senior year, these sites will help you learn how to pay for college.

Heisman Scholarship CRITERIA FOR APPLICATION Students whose senior year of high school is the 2021-2022 academic year, graduating with the class of 2022. Students who have at least a weighted “B” grade average (3.0 GPA) during grades 9, 10 and 11. Students who participate or have particiated in grades 9, 10, or 11 in at least one of sports recognized by the International Olympic Committee in the Summer and Winter Olympic Games, the Paralympic Games or the National Federation of State High School Associations. Students who have participated in volunteer service, community involvement or leadership within his/her school or community. Farmers Union Scholarship Eligibility Criteria: • Current member of South Dakota Farmers Union • Senior in high school planning to attend or a current Freshman at a SD post-secondary institution. • Completed application received by 8 a.m. on October 26, 2018. This includes attached forms or online equivalent. • Any late or incomplete applications will not be reviewed. • Applicants can only win once, past winners are not eligible. • Winners will be announced in early December. Dakota Corps Scholarship Graduate from an accredited South Dakota high school with a Grade Point Average (GPA of) 2.8 or greater on a 4.0 scale. Home schooled students will be allowed to provide supplemental information if this requirement is not applicable. Have a composite ACT score of 27 or greater (or the SAT equivalent). Agree, in writing, to stay in South Dakota and work in a critical need occupation after graduation for as many years as the scholarship was received, plus one year. Elks Legacy Scholarship Application This scholarship is for members or immediate family members of an Elk Lodge. Codington-Clark Electric One (1) - $1,000 Basin/Codington-Clark Electric Scholarship One (1) - $1,000 Codington-Clark Electric/CoBank Scholarship Four (4) -$500 Codington-Clark Electric Scholarships scholarships must be used for educational costs, and the student must enter college in the fall of the school year for which the scholarship is given. POET Scholarship POET Never Satisfied Scholarships are open to students enrolled for Fall Semester 2018 in any two- or four-year post-secondary school, regardless of major or GPA. James Valley Telecommunications Scholarship James Valley Telecommunications will be awarding three $2,000 scholarships in 2019 to area seniors whose parents or legal guardians are members of JVT. Children of Warriors National Presidents' Scholarship/a> Candidates for this award shall be daughters, sons, grandsons, granddaughters, great-granddaughters, or great-grandsons of veterans who served in the United States Armed Forces during eligibility dates for membership in The American Legion: April 6, 1917, to November 11, 1918; and any time after December 7, 1941. Applicants must be in their senior year of high school. This is a scholarship to attend an accredited institution of higher education. Edward Schwab APPLICATION FOR EDUCATIONAL SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES 1. The recipient must be a Clark, Hamlin, Henry, Florence, or Willow Lake High School student who is currently in a postsecondary program or is a high school senior on track for graduation. 2. Bob Mecham Student of Integrity Scholarship The annual Scott Mecham BBB Student of Integrity Awards program is sponsored by the Foundation of the Better Business Bureau. $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to six students who reside in the geographic area served by the BBB. These scholarships were established to honor the memory of Mr. Mecham who served as the BBB president from 1991 until January 2006, when he died unexpectedly. Lee Schlagel Scholarship This scholarship has been established in memory of Lee Schlagel. Lee, son of Terry and Deb Schlagel, was an outstanding athlete at Clark High School. Ortwin Buss Scholarship Ortwin Buss was a farmer from Garden City, SD. He had a passion for farming. Farming was his life. Although there are no specific requirements for his scholarship, an emphasis will be placed on applicants in the AG field, those planning to return to a family farm, overall character and passion for the future. Jeff Worth/Rick Worth Memorial Scholarship The Jeff Worth/Rick Worth Memorial Scholarship Fund is offering a two hundred and fifty dollar ($250) Scholarship to be used towards tuition and paid in two installments ($125 for each semester) to a graduating senior boy or girl from Clark High School. The qualified student must be pursuing a career at the vocational or college level in South Dakota. Financial need will be a factor in determining the recipient along with scholastic abilities. South Dakota Retailers Scholarship Applicant must desire a career in a retail field. Student must intend to enroll full-time at a post secondary school. Awards will not be based solely on financial need or grades. Barbara Jenkins Scholarship Barb Jenkins was a lover of creating and admiring art so this will be the first point of emphasis with a second point being in the area of education. Eligibility: This scholarship is open to Clark High School seniors. Emphasis will be on the areas of art and/or education. A GPA of 2.5 is also required. Application material to be returned: Applicant must return the completed application making sure to fill out the information below and give a brief response to the statement. Rural Water Scholarship The Clark Rural Water System Board of Directors has chosen to award 2-$500 scholarships to any high school senior whose immediate household is a paying member of Clark Rural Water System. Although a minimum 2.0 GPA and a "personal story" for each applicant is required, all who meet these prerequisites will have an equal opportunity to have their name entered into a random drawing to be held in conjunction with our May 19, 2022 Board Meeting. All applicants and/or their parents are welcome to attend this meeting if desired.
